SUMMARY:

Disciplinary authority of school boards and alternative education placement. Authorizes a local school board to determine the appropriate alternative education placement of students who have been placed in public school alternative education programs by court order, regardless of whether the student attends the public schools it supervises or resides within the school division. School boards are also authorized to place in alternative education programs any student who has been charged with an offense or who has been found guilty or not innocent of a crime for which the disposition ordered by a court must be disclosed to the division superintendent pursuant to § 16.1-305.1.
