HB 2109 Building Code; enforcement.

SUMMARY:

Uniform Statewide Building Code; enforcement. Requires the local governing body to enforce the Uniform Statewide Building Code for existing buildings and structures (i) to the extent such enforcement relates to § 105 of Volume II of the Building Code and (ii) upon a finding by the locality that a serious threat to health and safety exists following a complaint by a tenant in a residential rental unit which is the subject of the complaint. The bill is a recommendation of the Virginia Housing Study Commission.
