SUMMARY:

Real Estate Appraiser Board; exemption from licensure. Adds the definition of “evaluation” and clarifies a current licensure exemption for persons or employees of financial institutions or lenders who provide an evaluation of real estate in connection with a real estate-related financial transaction where an appraisal by a licensed appraiser is not required by the regulatory agency of such institution or lender. The bill also provides that the terms “appraisal” or “appraiser” may only be used by a licensed appraiser. The bill also states that a court's power to determine who may qualify to testify as an expert witness shall not be prescribed.
