SUMMARY:
Motor vehicle liability insurance. Provides that a defendant is personally liable to a plaintiff for exemplary damages awarded pursuant to § 8.01-44.5, relating to actions for personal injury or death arising from the operation of a motor vehicle. The bill further provides that no self-insurer or insurance company under any policy of insurance shall be liable for such exemplary damages awarded.
