SUMMARY:

Special license plates. Prohibits issuance or renewal, on or after July 1, 1995, of any special license plates not authorized by statute; limits issuance of most special license plates to series with at least 350 prepaid orders and provides for cessation of issuance when, after five years or more, a series has fewer than 100 active sets; authorizes issuance of decals or stickers for use on license plates of certain elected and appointed officials; provides legislative authority for several series of special license plates in production on July 13, 1990, but not previously authorized by statute and authorized several new series of special license plates.
