SUMMARY:
Liability of employer for medical services ordered by Workers' Compensation Commission. Deems “community” to be the health systems area, as such term is defined in § 65.2-1300, in which medical treatment was rendered, for the purposes of setting reimbursement limits on a employer's payment for medical services to an injured employee when the employer is ordered to make such payments by the Commission. Under the bill, the employer's obligation is limited to such amounts paid as prevail in the same community for similar treatment when the treatment is paid for by the injured employee. Health systems areas of the Commonwealth are established by the U.S. Department of Health and Welfare.
