SUMMARY:
Penalties for violations of motor vehicle dealer laws. Generally substitutes civil penalties (up to $1,000 for each offense) for criminal penalties for violations of the motor vehicle dealer laws. Class 1 misdemeanor penalties are imposed, however, for odometer disclosure violations, coercion of purchasers to provide insurance, inspection of vehicles before sale, and obtaining titles. Violations relating to issuance of temporary license plates are made Class 3 misdemeanors.
