1995 SESSION
HB 1901 Credit insurance.
Introduced by: William P. Robinson, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Credit insurance. Amends provisions relating to credit involuntary unemployment insurance, credit life, and credit accident and sickness insurance. The bill defines “credit property insurance” to mean insurance against direct physical damage to personal household property (excluding motor vehicles, mobile homes and watercraft) used as security for a loan or other credit transaction. Under the bill, a credit property insurance agent may obtain a license as such an agent without taking a written examination. This bill also changes from 25 to 7 the number of days in which a loan or credit transaction must have been effective in order for an exemption from certain disclosure requirements to apply to credit involuntary unemployment insurance, credit life and credit accident and sickness insurance. Finally, regarding credit accident and sickness insurance, the bill authorizes joint coverage at rates not to exceed 165 percent of applicable rates.
