HB 1896 Fines and costs; loss of driver's license for failure to pay.

SUMMARY:

Fines and costs. Clarifies that upon failure to pay fines and costs pursuant to a deferred payment or installment schedule, a person may lose his driver's license. Suspension of a person's privilege to operate a motor vehicle was authorized in 1994 by amendments to § 46.2-395; this amendment merely conforms to those changes.

The bill is recommended by the Committee on District Courts.
