HB 1887 Registered limited liability partnerships.

SUMMARY:

Registered limited liability partnerships. Permits a domestic limited partnership to become a registered limited liability partnership by complying with applicable provisions of the Virginia Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act. The bill also provides that a domestic or foreign limited liability partnership which experiences a technical dissolution is not required to make an additional registration filing when its business is continued as a partnership following the dissolution. Finally, the bill requires that a law firm practicing as a limited liability partnership register as such with the Virginia State Bar.
