HB 1862 Financial responsibility for abandoned waste facilities.

SUMMARY:
Abandoned facilities. Requires any funds forfeited by persons financially responsible for abandoned solid waste facilities to be paid to the Director of the Department of Environmental Quality. This only applies to facilities abandoned after July 1, 1995. The funds are to be used solely for the purpose of restoring and maintaining the facility in a safe condition. Currently, such funds are paid to the locality where the facility is located.
