Introduced by: William P. Robinson, Jr. | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Restricted driver's license for alcohol violations. Amends the unlawful purchase or possession of alcoholic beverages statute to permit a court, in its discretion and upon a demonstration of hardship, to authorize any person convicted of the illegal purchase or possession of alcohol to have a restricted driver's license in accordance with provisions of the juvenile use and lose act. The bill grants the same restricted license privileges to 18-, 19- and 20-year-olds as currently exist for minors convicted of the same offense. Currently, the court's authority is limited to suspending the driver's license for up to one year.
