HB 1661 Public Procurement Act; design-build, construction mgmt. exemption.
Introduced by: John Watkins | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Public Procurement Act; design-build, construction management exemption. Authorizes the County of Powhatan to enter into a design-build or construction management contract for the renovation of the former public school building. The building is currently uninhabitable and has been vacant for nearly a decade. Renovations are expected to include asbestos removal; compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act; and updating the electrical, plumbing, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The county anticipates that the building will be occupied by the Community Services Board, a community center, and other nonprofit or public agencies. The bill was requested by the Powhatan County Board of Supervisors by resolution to the General Assembly.
