SUMMARY:
Enterprise zones. Increases the number of authorized enterprise zones from 25 to 50. It also modifies eligibility of a business firm to qualify under the provisions of the Enterprise Zone Act by designating criteria which must be met involving the percentage of employees who either are residents of the zone or have incomes below 80 percent of the median income for the jurisdiction prior to employment. The bill additionally provides tax credits to all qualified businesses for 10 years regardless of when operations within an enterprise zone began.
