SUMMARY:

Workers' Compensation; definition of employee; search and rescue personnel. Adds members of volunteer search and rescue organizations to the list of volunteers included as employees for purposes of the Workers' Compensation Act if the governing body of a locality in which the principal office of such an organization is located adopts a resolution acknowledging them as such. The bill also deems persons who respond to any incident upon request of the Department of Emergency Services as employees of the Department for purposes of the Act.
