SUMMARY:
Private handgun sales. Requires individuals wishing to transfer a handgun to consummate the transaction at a firearms dealer's place of business and have a criminal records check. Failure to do so constitutes a Class 6 felony. For unreasonably failing to assist in any such transaction by running the records check, a dealer is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. For his services, a fee of $20 must be paid by the purchaser to the dealer.
