SUMMARY:
Failure to pay support. Eliminates the authority of the court to sentence a person who has failed to pay child or spousal support as ordered to jail and/or to work release for up to twelve months. The sentencing authority is limited to persons who refuse to pay. The bill also gives the court the authority to order the person to perform community service in lieu of work release.
