SUMMARY:

Virginia Healthy Children Act. Prohibits smoking in the public schools of the Commonwealth, effective on July 1, 1995. The bill provides for certain exemptions to the use of tobacco products in classrooms and on school property during any lecture, demonstration, or educational forum on the health risks associated with tobacco use, or after school hours by persons participating in any substance abuse rehabilitation and counseling group which has been authorized to use the school facility by the local school board or division superintendent, pursuant to § 22.1-131.
