Introduced by: Harry R. Purkey | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Occupational license withholding. Prohibits state agencies from issuing any permissive authority to engage in a business, trade or occupation or any driver's license until a person provides a statement indicating that he or she is not subject to a court or administrative order to pay child support or, if subject to an order, is in compliance with the order or a subsequently reached payment plan. Providing materially false information in the statement is made punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor.
The Department of Social Services is given the specific authority to request information from any issuing agency on an individual's licensee status, to obtain the most recent address of the person as shown in the agency's files and to review the statements submitted.
