HB 1112 Teen court program.
Introduced by: Robert G. Marshall | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Teen court program. Authorizes the establishment of teen court programs, similar to the one started in Odessa, Texas, through which non-serious juvenile offenders volunteer to participate in a peer trial and sentencing processing in return for deferral and ultimately dismissal of the charges. The programs must be approved by the juvenile courts. The programs are designed to give these juveniles a better understanding of the criminal justice system. The programs are run by volunteers and monitored by adults.
