SUMMARY:

Amount of punitive damages. Sets forth those factors the trier of fact is to consider in determining the amount of punitive damages in civil cases. The defendant's financial condition may be considered only on appeal in determining if an award is excessive. The trial court may alter a jury's award after consideration of all factors but must state in the record that the reason for doing so is on grounds of excessiveness.
