Introduced by: Peter T. Way | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Political campaign telephone polls. Adds requirement that persons conducting telephone polls before an election (other than a federal election) must disclose the name of the candidate, committee or person who is paying for the poll. If the person being polled requests more identifying information, the person polling must give the registration number for a committee registered with the State Board of Elections or the name and address of the individual responsible for the poll. The new provision also prohibits the giving of false or fictitious identifying information. Persons violating the section are subject to a $50 civil penalty or, in the case of willful violations, to Class 1 misdemeanor penalties.
