SUMMARY:

Commonwealth Charter Schools. Establishes the Commonwealth Charter School Act to permit the creation of charter schools by local school boards. The bill provides certain conditions for the establishment, administration, student enrollment, staffing requirements, and funding of such schools. This measure was carried over by the House Education Committee.
