Introduced by: Phillip A. Hamilton | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

Workers' compensation; emergency medical technicians; occupational disease presumption. Adds salaried and volunteer emergency medical technicians to the list of employees that are entitled to a rebuttable presumption that respiratory disease, hypertension and heart disease suffered by such employees are occupational diseases under the Workers' Compensation Act. The bill also brings volunteer emergency medical technicians within the Act's coverage, subject to the same conditions for inclusion currently applicable to volunteer firefighters, volunteer lifesaving and rescue squad members, and to auxiliary and reserve law enforcement officers.
