SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 243
Commending the Central High School girls' cross-country team.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 20, 1995

WHEREAS, the 1994 girls' cross-country team from Central High School, in the Shenandoah County town of Woodstock, won the state Group A Cross-Country Championship; and

WHEREAS, the team was coached by Joseph Huddle, a 1980 Central High graduate who earned his college degree at Roanoke College, then returned to Central High School as a teacher of mathematics and cross-country coach; and

WHEREAS, led by championship runners Alison Bennett, Nickie Davis, Katherine Grisdale, Chanda Hoffman, Erynn Lohman, Jackie Post, and Kavara Vaughn, the Central High team proudly represented the Shenandoah Valley in the state championships and brought home the title; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate the members of the girls' cross-country team from Central High School for their extraordinary 1994 season; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Coach Joseph Huddle in honor of the Central High School girls' cross-country champions.
