Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 2 of Chapter 1 of Title 15.1 a section numbered 15.1-37.3:14 as follows:

§ 15.1-37.3:14. Compensation for killed livestock in Franklin County.

Franklin County may, but shall not be required to, provide in accordance with the provisions of § 3.1-796.118, for compensation to the owner of any livestock or poultry killed or injured by a dog.
