1995 SESSION
WHEREAS, the American Counseling Association and Moray House Institute joined together to host a 1992 bilateral conference for the counseling and human development profession in Edinburgh, Scotland; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Counselors Association members who attended the conference shared this unique experience with the Virginia Counselors Association Board, offering to collaborate with Moray House, Institution of Education, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, to develop a professional/educational experience for Scottish counselors; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Counselors Association extended an invitation to host counselors from Scotland during the week of April 1-8, 1995, during which time the Scottish delegation plans to visit public and private counseling settings throughout the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Dale Brittle and Jane Lane, co-chairs of the Virginia Counselors Association International Committee, worked in coordination with Margaret Jarvie of Moray House Institute to bring this partnership of shared experience to fruition; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of the president of the Virginia Counselors Association, Judith Lee Ladd, the Central Valley, Peninsula, Prince William, Rappahannock, and Richmond Counselors Associations are recognized as hosts for the Scottish delegation as they travel within the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend the Virginia Counselors Association for its initiative in sponsoring this international venture; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the General Assembly hereby extend a warm welcome to the distinguished visitors from Scotland; and, be it
RESOLVED FINALLY, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Judith Lee Ladd, president of the Virginia Counselors Association, with the best wishes of the General Assembly for a successful and professionally rewarding conference.
