1995 SESSION
LD5456464WHEREAS, the football team from Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach enjoyed a uniquely successful 1994 season; and
WHEREAS, finishing with a fine 10-2 record, the Chiefs from Kempsville High School also won the Beach District championship and were the regional runners-up; and
WHEREAS, guided by Head Coach John Bowles and Assistant Coaches Ravis “Red” Stickney and Ken MaGee, the Kempsville roster included three members of the All Beach District First Team, Mike Hilliard, Mike Pishioneri, and Donald Scott; and
WHEREAS, the Chiefs also had several members of the All Beach District Second Team, including Hans Beene, Kevin Eaton, Fred Sanders, Aaron Shock, Luke Walker, and James Woods; and
WHEREAS, also winning All District Second Team honors was Nicole Frey, who holds the distinction of being the first female football player in Virginia history to score in a regional football game; and
WHEREAS, the excellent performance of the 1994 Kempsville High School football team is a tribute to the hard work of the players, the leadership of the coaches, and the support of the school and the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly salute the Chiefs of Kempsville High School on their singularly successful 1994 season; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Head Coach John Bowles in recognition of the excellence of the Kempsville High School football team.
