HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 670
On the death of Curtis R. Wall.

WHEREAS, Curtis R. Wall, a retired Henry County teacher, coach, and principal, died on October 3, 1994; and

WHEREAS, a native of Henry County and a veteran of service in the United States Army, Curtis Wall graduated from Bridgewater College and earned his master's degree from the University of Virginia; and

WHEREAS, during his many years in education, Curtis Wall coached and taught at Campbell Court Elementary School and John D. Bassett High School and served as principal of Sanville Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, Curtis Wall was also principal at John Redd Smith Elementary School for over 20 years, prior to his retirement after 33 years of service to the Henry County Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, a member of the Smith United Methodist Church, Curtis Wall was also a member of the Collinsville Lions Club, the board of Henry County Parks and Recreation, and the Martinsville-Henry County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited; and

WHEREAS, Curtis Wall leaves a lasting legacy of service to the youth of Henry County, a legacy that lives on in the generations of Henry County citizens whose lives he influenced; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the loss of a dedicated educator, Curtis R. Wall; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Curtis R. Wall as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
