WHEREAS, Donald E. Krajewski, Sr., a resident of Chantilly and a longtime leader of Optimist International, died on November 17, 1994; and

WHEREAS, Donald Krajewski, married for 30 years and with two children and two grandchildren, was an outstanding citizen who was recognized for his many contributions to his community and his country; and

WHEREAS, a veteran of 22 years service in the United States Air Force, Donald Krajewski retired from the Air Force Reserve at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; and

WHEREAS, an associate director of management and systems support at George Washington University, Donald Krajewski was active for many years in Optimist International, a service organization dedicated to helping youth; and

WHEREAS, Donald Krajewski was a six-term District Secretary-Treasurer, a Distinguished Lieutenant Governor, and Governor of the Capital-Virginia District of Optimist International; and

WHEREAS, at the Optimist International convention in Montreal, Donald Krajewski was presented the 1994 Earl Yarborough Distinguished Service Award, thereby achieving international recognition for his dedicated service to youth; and

WHEREAS, Donald Krajewski served as Honor President at the Chantilly Optimist Club and remained an active member until his death; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of Donald E. Krajewski, Sr., and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Donald E. Krajewski, Sr., as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for his memory.
