1995 SESSION
LD5371308WHEREAS, Colleen Crawford, a junior at Abingdon High School, won the 1994 Virginia Group AA cross country championship; and
WHEREAS, a dominant runner since her freshman year, Colleen Crawford has won three Highlands District titles, two Region IV championships, and every 1994 race against Group AA competition; and
WHEREAS, forced to miss the 1993 state championships because of an injury, Colleen Crawford earned her 1994 victory in a close race against the defending champion, Stephanie Ingersoll of Western Albemarle High School, whom she defeated by less than 10 seconds; and
WHEREAS, Colleen Crawford, who won All-State honors in cross country, also was a member of the Abingdon High School track team, which won a share of the 1994 state championship; and
WHEREAS, a consistent, determined runner known for her discipline and extraordinary work ethic, Colleen Crawford has already established an enviable record of accomplishment in a career with a very bright future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Colleen Crawford on her brilliant 1994 cross country season; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Colleen Crawford in honor of her extraordinary performance in the state cross country championships.
