Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.1-486.01 as follows:

§ 15.1-486.01. Same; applicability to state agencies.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, every department, board, bureau, commission or other agency of the Commonwealth which proposes to construct, improve, operate or maintain a state facility which is located within a county, city or town, must comply with all applicable zoning ordinances and regulations of the county, city or town.
