Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 19.2-295.1 as follows:

§ 19.2-295.1. Instructions on parole and good conduct allowance.

In any case in which the jury finds the defendant guilty of a felony, upon motion of the defendant or the Commonwealth's attorney, the court may instruct the jury, along with other instructions as to the law of the case, on the applicability of the law governing parole eligibility and good conduct allowance to the defendant with respect to the offense for which he was convicted.
