LD4788350Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 8.01-15 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 8.01-15. Suits by and against unincorporated associations or orders; immunity for certain members.
All unincorporated associations or orders may sue and be sued under the name by which they are commonly known and called, or under which they do business, and judgments and executions against any such association or order shall bind its real and personal property in like manner as if it were incorporated.
The members of any unincorporated association or order formed for religious or charitable purposes shall be immune from civil liability for acts or omissions done or made in good faith and without compensation in the performance of their duties as such members or while conducting activities sponsored by the association or order, unless the act or omission was the result of gross negligence or willful misconduct or arose out of the operation of a motor vehicle.
