1995 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 19.2-44 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 19.2-44. Territorial jurisdiction.
A magistrate shall exercise the powers conferred by this title only in the judicial district for which he is appointed. However, a magistrate may exercise these powers in a contiguous political subdivision when so authorized by his appointing authority and the chief circuit court judge of the district to which assistance is to be provided.
