SUMMARY:
Expressing the sense of the Senate on certain recommendations of the Governor's Commission on Campaign Finance Reform, Government Accountability and Ethics. Recognizes that the standing committees of the Senate are the appropriate bodies to review any proposals put forward to implement the Commission's recommendations for a state ethics commission, central computer system for disclosure reports, and recodification of the various ethics and disclosure laws. The resolution incorporates a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee Studying the Report of the Governor's Commission on Campaign Finance Reform, Government Accountability, and Ethics pursuant to SJR 217 (1993).
