SUMMARY:

Reorganization of State Library and Archives study. Establishes a joint subcommittee to study the future of the Virginia State Library and Archives to examine the effects of the Library's ability to serve the public and preserve Virginia's historical documents, determine the feasibility and appropriations of the reorganization of the Archives into an autonomous state agency separate from the Virginia State Library, and inventory and recommend an appropriate mechanism for the restoration and preservation of art work, including paintings, portraits, and pictures on display in the State Capitol.
