SUMMARY:
Merit system of employment for law-enforcement officers and jail officers and correctional officers. Establishes a joint legislative subcommittee to study the implementation of a merit system of employment for "law-enforcement officers" as defined in § 9-169(9) of the Code of Virginia and "jail officers" and "correctional officers" as defined in § 53.1-1 of the Code of Virginia.
