SUMMARY:

Banks; loans secured by real estate. Removes certain statutory limits on the aggregate amount of a bank's loans that can be secured by real estate. Under current law, the total of such loans is limited to 70 percent of a bank's time and savings deposits or the amount of its capital and its surplus, whichever is greater. The bill eliminates these limits.
