SUMMARY:

LD8213649 01/20/94 SUMMARY

Testing for blood-borne pathogens. Removes the sunset clause from the statute providing a procedure for testing and disclosure in an exposure-prone incident involving a public safety agency employee. This provision relates to incidents in which law-enforcement and other personnel may be exposed to the blood of another person, thereby generating concerns about possible exposure to such blood-borne pathogens as human immunodeficiency viruses and hepatitis. This measure is a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee Studying AIDS.
