SUMMARY:

Sex offender treatment providers. Establishes a Certified Practices Advisory Committee which will advise the Boards of Medicine, Nursing, Professional Counselors, Psychology, and Social Work on standards for the voluntary certification of their licensees as sex offender treatment providers. Each of these health regulatory boards will be authorized to promulgate regulations regarding such voluntary certification. The Board of Psychology is required to license as sex offender treatment providers those persons who are otherwise exempt from licensure by the Boards of Professional Counselors, Psychology, and Social Work because they are an employee or volunteer of the federal, state or local government, or of an agency established or funded, in whole or in part, by a governmental entity, or a private nonprofit organization or agency sponsored or funded, in whole or in part, by a community-based citizen group or organization.
