SUMMARY:

Transportation Facilities Act. Permits privatization of all types of transportation facilities; the Virginia Highway Corporation Act of 1988 is limited to highways structured as toll roads. Governmental oversight exists, and the State Corporation Commission is assigned certificate of authority and rate approval functions. Condemnation by governmental bodies is authorized to advance the public transportation purpose of the private operator under certain circumstances.
