SB 459 Health care providers.

SUMMARY:

Health care providers. Authorizes the Department of Health Professions to require individuals who are applying for initial licensure or who are licensed to practice medicine, osteopathic medicine, or dentistry, or to practice as a physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, or dental hygienist to submit the following information to the Department of Health Professions: their area of specialty and subspecialty, credentials and certifications issued by professional associations, practice locations and number of hours spent at each practice location. The information is to be collected for manpower planning purposes and is exempt from the Freedom of Information Act. This bill is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Health Care.
