SUMMARY:

Accident and sickness insurance; coverage for certain prescription drugs. Prohibits health insurers, health maintenance organizations, and corporations providing health care coverage plans from refusing to provide coverage for certain prescribed drugs on the basis that they have not been approved for the type of cancer for which they were prescribed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Such prohibition, however, is predicated on the drug's recognition as safe and effective for treatment of the type of cancer prescribed by certain standard reference compendia.
