1994 SESSION
SB 378 Statewide Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Registry.
Introduced by: Clarence A. Holland | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Statewide Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Registry. Repeals the Statewide Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Registry established in 1989. Although nursing homes, hospitals, and physicians are required to report certain information on patients identified as having Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder, the registry has been dependent upon a passive reporting system, which underestimates the prevalence of the disease and disorders. Consequently, the registry data is not sufficiently accurate to facilitate meaningful clinical research or to accomplish the objectives of the registry. It is believed that better information can be derived on these diseases with the implementation of a study.
