SUMMARY:

Prisoners--costs for supervision. Establishes a one-time fee of $200 to be paid by persons convicted of a felony, multiple felonies, or a combination of felonies and misdemeanors and who is sentenced to incarceration in a local or state correctional facility, granted a suspended sentence, or is participating in a community diversion or home/electronic incarceration program. The bill also establishes a one-time fee of $50 for persons convicted of a misdemeanor or multiple misdemeanors who receive incarceration in a local correctional facility, a suspended sentence, or participate in community diversion or home detention. Fees must be paid prior to release on parole, probation, DC or any form of home/electronic incarceration and is in addition to any other fees or costs allowed by law. Currently, the fee is $30 per month for up to 60 months.
