SUMMARY:

Adult care residences. Deletes references to mobility from the definitions for assisted living and residential living levels of care. The study required by House Bill 2280 and Senate Bill 1064 (1993) revealed that 44 percent of adult care residents who would otherwise fit into the residential living level of care could not because of deficits in their mobility. Under current law, an individual who requires minimal assistance, such as a cane or walker, is not eligible for residential living status.

This bill is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Health Care.
