SB 256 HIV early intervention centers.

Introduced by: Yvonne B. Miller | all patrons    ...    notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY:

HIV early intervention centers. Increases the number of authorized HIV early intervention centers from two to four and requires that, if funded, proposals be requested from the areas of the Commonwealth having the most need as demonstrated by the number of HIV and AIDS cases (see second enactment clause). Currently, Lynchburg and Richmond have HIV early intervention centers. The Northern Virginia and Tidewater areas have high incidences of disease and any funding would be targeted to these areas.

This provision is a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee Studying AIDS.
