1994 SESSION
SB 255 Testing for blood-borne pathogens.
Introduced by: Yvonne B. Miller | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Testing for blood-borne pathogens. Removes the sunset clause from the statute providing a procedure for testing and disclosure in an exposure-prone incident involving a public safety agency employee. This provision relates to incidences in which law-enforcement and other personnel may be exposed to the blood of another person, thereby generating concerns about possible exposure to such blood-borne pathogens as human immunodeficiency viruses and hepatitis. Please note that the editor's parenthetical notation of the sunset is not part of the law and has been retained because of a drafting rule. This measure is a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee Studying AIDS.
