SB 250 Insurance; bail bond agents.

SUMMARY:

Insurance; bail bond agents. Permits bail bond agents who only write appearance bonds as surety to obtain a license from the State Corporation Commission without taking a written examination. Under current law, mortgage guaranty, ocean marine, and travel baggage agents are so classified. The bill effectively exempts such bail bond agents from continuing education requirements for property and casualty insurance agents pursuant to § 38.2-1866 et seq.
